Development of Animatics

Here you will find a variety of animatics that I have been developing, with a focus to making the movement look more natural.

Character

for RI Session #1

Meet Ickle. A character that was created through my brainstorm process, for our first rapid ideation session. I first worked on my interpretation of the Dixit card, and narrowed down the key elements for this new character.

Ickle Gif

This is actually the third Gif, that I have made of Ickle so far.

But I wasn’t able to upload the previous two, as one was created in photoshop with video layers and had music, which doesn’t play on here, it was exported as am MP3.

The other, I aim to get it on here soon.

This sound was added to the original video layers animatic, but as I couldn’t get that on here. I’ve added the music separate for you to listen to, I was looking for something light, and fun, not to repetitive, I thought this went well. (the tinkling sound reminded me of alarm clock, that was a gentle sound to wake up to, or to fall back to sleep?)

Conversational Seaweed…

After numerous tests with using the asset warp tool, in Animate CC, this is what I created, I was following a beginners guide for animating with this tool, but it was for a flickering flame…

Final version of seaweed.

Now placed into our game for; RI session 2…Tincan – Out in the Ocean

After working on this small piece, I was so pleased with it, that

that it has encouraged me to start experimenting next with my children’s book

character, Ralphy.
